ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

I’m a career UX Designer and part-time professional photographer. I grew up around photography and technically have been shooting my entire life but the bug didn’t take root until 2014 when I made the jump from an old prosumer camera, the Minolta DiMage A2, to a genuine DSLR. Once I acquired my D750, I never looked back. I love bringing my camera to events, not just to give me something to hide behind socially, but I feel that capturing moments is one of the best gifts I can provide to my friends.

I shoot Nikon for the same reason many people shoot what they shoot, I had some Nikon equipment already available to me. I prefer the older D series lenses as opposed to the newer G series for a few reasons. Firstly, they’re less expensive with virtually undetectable differences in quality. Secondly, they have a few manual features I find useful. Specifically, they have a hard manual focus stop for infinity which makes it much easier to shoot astronomy and nighttime cityscapes. Lastly, the ability to unlock the aperture and change it manually allows me to use it with one of my favorite silly little toys, my Vivitar 2X Macro Focusing Teleconverter.
